Chandigarh : Panjab University Chandigarh inaugurated an 8-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Universal Human Values today. The program, running from 18th to 25th June 2024, is funded by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and co-funded by the Technology Enabling Centre, Panjab University. The workshop has drawn 75 delegates from across the country, including Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, NCR, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Jammu, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. During the inaugural session, Prof. Shankar Sehgal, Coordinator UHV Cell welcomed the dignitaries and the participants to the program. He highlighted the events being organized by UHV Cell in promoting the value-based education. The Chief Guest of the inaugural session, Prof. Sanjeev Puri, Director UIET accentuated on the need of such workshops and how it can provide a new outlook for life for our students during these competitive times. Mr. Jitender Narula, Resource person NCCIP-AICTE team apprised the objectives of the workshop to the audience. Prof Manu Sharma, Coordinator TEC shared his experience of UHV courses. NCCIP, AICTE team comprising of Mr. Jitender Narula, Mrs. Rajneet Kaur, Dr. Priyadarshini, Prof. Munshi Yadav. Mr. Krishan Kumar are facilitating the sessions of FDP. The FDP began with an introductory session elaborating the purpose of this workshop to better equip faculty members for UHV courses. A series of proposals concerning human reality that are logical, universal, and verifiable will be methodically proposed over these eight days.
