CONCLUDING CEREMONY OF FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ON UNIVERSAL HUMAN VALUES HELD
Chandigarh : The Valedictory Ceremony of the Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Universal Human Values (UHV), jointly organized by Panjab University Chandigarh and I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Kapurthala, concluded today at the UIET, PU, Chandigarh. This unique program aimed at integrating UHV into academic and professional practices, fostering a holistic approach to education. Under the guidance of Event Coordinators Prof. Shankar Sehgal and Dr. Anu Jhamb, the ceremony welcomed esteemed dignitaries and participants committed to promoting human values in education and society. 71 delegates from across the country, including Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, NCR, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Jammu, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand completed this training programme successfully. The Chief Guest, IAS Bhawna Garg, delivered an insightful address highlighting the importance of UHV in shaping ethical leadership and social responsibility. Ms. Garg commended the initiative by both universities to incorporate UHV into the academic curriculum, emphasizing its role in nurturing compassionate and responsible citizens. Prof. Sanjeev Puri, Director of UIET, and Prof. YP Verma, Registrar of Panjab University Chandigarh, graced the occasion as Guests of Honor. They underscored the significance of embedding UHV principles in educational frameworks to cultivate a values-driven academic environment. Throughout the ceremony, participants shared their experiences and learnings from the FDP, showcasing innovative approaches to integrating UHV into teaching, research methodologies and day to day life. The collaborative efforts between Panjab University Chandigarh and IKGPTU Kapurthala in organizing this FDP underscore their commitment to fostering a culture of universal human values in higher education.
